Driving Education Forward: Metropolitan College Explores Strategic Collaboration with MOT and JPJ Malaysia

At Metropolitan College, we are constantly striving to make quality higher education more accessible, flexible, and relevant to the needs of our nation’s workforce.

Metropolitan College · June 2026

On 8 July 2026, representatives from Metropolitan College had the privilege of conducting a highly productive courtesy visit to the Ministry of Transport (MOT) Malaysia in Putrajaya. The meeting brought together key representatives from MOT’s Human Resource Management Division and the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Enforcement Division to explore exciting educational collaborations.

Empowering Public Servants with Flexible ODL Programmes

The primary focus of the discussion was introducing Metropolitan College’s premier Online Distance Learning (ODL) Diploma programmes. Designed specifically for working adults, these programmes offer a unique pathway for public sector officers and law enforcement personnel to upskill without disrupting their critical daily duties.

Why our ODL programmes are a perfect fit for working professionals:

  • 100% Online & Flexible Learning: Study anytime, anywhere, fitting education seamlessly around demanding shift works.
  • No Final Examinations: Our continuous, assignment-based assessment structure focuses on practical application rather than exam stress.
  • Highly Affordable Education: High-quality tertiary education structured to be accessible, especially compared to market rates that often exceed RM20,000.

Tailoring Education for JPJ: Co-Developing Transport Law Enforcement

A major highlight of the meeting was JPJ’s keen interest in customizing academic content to directly serve the needs of road transport enforcement officers.

While our current Diploma in Law Enforcement provides a strong foundational framework, discussions are now underway to co-develop a specialized module: Penguatkuasaan Undang-Undang Pengangkutan (Transport Law Enforcement). This strategic collaboration between academic experts and ministry heads aims to produce highly specialized, practical training tailored to the unique challenges faced by JPJ personnel.

A Note of Gratitude:

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to Puan Faizah, Puan Azlinda, Puan Aliza, and Encik Aizuddin from MOT and JPJ for their warm hospitality, highly engaging discussion, and shared vision for empowering Malaysia’s civil service through flexible education.
