Kuala Lumpur, 24 July 2026 – Metropolitan College conducted a courtesy visit to the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) in Kuala Lumpur, reflecting the College’s continued commitment to strengthening institutional relationships and fostering meaningful engagement with organisations within Malaysia’s public sector.
Representing Metropolitan College during the visit were Mr. Nasution, Ms. Yogganantini and Ms. Afrina Qistina, while IDFR was represented by En. Sobri from Corporate Affairs.
The courtesy visit provided a valuable platform for representatives from both institutions to engage in an open and constructive exchange of perspectives. The session allowed both parties to gain a deeper understanding of their respective institutional roles, areas of expertise and contributions towards education, professional development and human capital advancement.
As an agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (KLN), IDFR plays an important role in supporting the professional development of government officers. Its work encompasses areas such as diplomatic training, language development and professional learning, contributing towards the continuous development of officers serving within Malaysia’s public sector and international relations environment.
During the engagement, representatives exchanged views on the evolving needs of today’s workforce and the increasing importance of continuous learning in a rapidly changing professional environment. The discussion also highlighted the value of providing opportunities for individuals to continuously enhance their knowledge, competencies and professional capabilities throughout their careers.
The session further provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on education and professional development, particularly in relation to the changing expectations placed on modern organisations and their workforce. As workplaces continue to evolve, educational institutions and professional organisations have an increasingly important role in supporting individuals with relevant knowledge and skills that can complement their professional experience.
For Metropolitan College, engagement with government institutions forms part of its broader commitment to building stronger connections between education and the professional community. Such engagements provide opportunities for the College to better understand the public sector environment while sharing perspectives on the role that accessible and flexible education can play in supporting lifelong learning.
Metropolitan College extends its sincere appreciation to IDFR and En. Sobri for the warm welcome, hospitality and time extended to the College’s representatives during the visit.
Through continued engagement with ministries, government departments, agencies and professional institutions, Metropolitan College remains committed to fostering meaningful relationships, encouraging knowledge exchange and supporting the development of a knowledgeable, skilled and future-ready workforce.
The courtesy visit to IDFR represents another positive step in Metropolitan College’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its engagement with the wider professional and public sector community while creating opportunities for continued institutional interaction in the future.
