21 October 2026 – Metropolitan College successfully organised the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) Workshop 2026 on 21 October 2026, bringing together 49 participants from various government ministries, departments, statutory bodies, and private sector organisations.

The workshop reflects Metropolitan College’s ongoing commitment to advancing professional development, strengthening workforce competencies, and promoting lifelong learning across the public and private sectors.

Enhancing Skills in Training Needs Analysis

Facilitated by Mr. Edward Chan Waihong, the workshop provided participants with practical knowledge and essential skills in identifying training needs, assessing competency gaps, and developing effective organisational training strategies.

The programme covered key areas including the Skill, Will and Hill framework, training needs data collection and analysis, prioritisation of organisational training requirements, and the development of structured training calendars.

Through practical examples and interactive discussions, participants gained valuable insights into applying TNA methodologies to real workplace challenges, enabling more strategic and effective training planning within their respective organisations.

Strong Participation from Government Agencies and Industry

The workshop welcomed representatives from a wide range of organisations, including the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM), Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), Department of Environment (DOE), Election Commission of Malaysia (SPR), Department of Skills Development (JPK), CIAST, MARDI, Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), and Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM), alongside other government agencies and private sector organisations.

The diverse participation highlighted the importance of systematic training needs analysis in strengthening organisational capabilities, workforce performance, and human capital development.

Positive Feedback and Programme Success

The workshop received highly positive feedback from participants, particularly in areas such as training content, trainer expertise, programme coordination, and facilities.

Participants especially appreciated the trainer’s ability to connect theoretical knowledge with practical workplace applications, as well as the engaging learning experience and overall organisation of the workshop.

The encouraging feedback reflects the programme’s relevance and Metropolitan College’s commitment to delivering quality professional training experiences.
