At Metropolitan College, we believe that quality higher education should be accessible, flexible, and aligned with the evolving needs of Malaysia’s public sector workforce.
As part of this commitment, Metropolitan College recently conducted a courtesy visit to the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) Malaysia, meeting with representatives from the
Training Division to explore opportunities for educational collaboration and professional
development for AADK personnel nationwide.
The discussion was led by Encik Asyraf, Assistant Director of the Training Division, together with officers from the Programme Approval Unit.
Supporting Career Development Through Flexible ODL Programmes
During the session, Metropolitan College introduced its Open & Distance Learning (ODL)
Diploma programmes, specifically designed to support working adults who wish to further their education while continuing their careers.
Among the key features highlighted were:
● 100% online learning, allowing students to study anytime and anywhere.
● No final examinations, with assessments conducted through continuous coursework
and assignments.
● Flexible learning schedules that accommodate the demands of full-time employment.
● Affordable tuition fees, making higher education more accessible to public sector
employees.
During the discussion, AADK shared that a significant proportion of its workforce currently holds SPM-level qualifications, and many officers actively pursue diploma studies to support their career progression. Metropolitan College’s flexible ODL model was recognised as a practical solution, enabling officers to continue their studies without the need to apply for examination leave.
Looking Ahead
The courtesy visit concluded on a highly positive note, with both Metropolitan College and
AADK expressing optimism about establishing a long-term strategic partnership that benefits AADK personnel nationwide.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Encik Asyraf and the officers from the
Training Division, National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) for their warm hospitality, valuable
insights, and positive engagement throughout the discussion.
Together, we look forward to creating more opportunities for government officers to achieve their academic aspirations through flexible, accessible, and industry-relevant higher education.
